To get a great kicker like Crosby is to solve a problem and add an essential asset for some 15 seasons.
So, even if there's a miss or two along the way, like that of Carlson, it's worth a draft pick to try for a great kicker who can be the difference between winning and losing.
Think Crosby with those two 50-plus field goals late in the game for a memorable playoff win against the Cowboys about a decade ago.
Nowadays, I'm glad we can talk Smack.
