Clifton: Hot Water?

I guess I am not the only one that noticed Chad Clifton has not been himself this year. After coming out of the Atlanta game with a hamstring injury, the coaches were more than happy to let Chad sit.

I guess I am not the only one that noticed Chad Clifton has not been himself this year. After coming out of the Atlanta game with a hamstring injury, the coaches were more than happy to let Chad sit.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel the coaching staff had some harsh word for Clifton.

“As far as Chad Clifton at left tackle, Chad didn’t have a very good day,” coach Mike McCarthy said.

That is nothing compared to what offensive line coach James Campen had to say.

“He had a poor game,” Campen said. “And his fundamentals were poor. Certainly you don’t want bad games and you don’t want to have successive games in that way. Certainly we’ll work our tails off with him and we’ll get it fixed. He’s a Pro Bowl tackle that didn’t play like one (Sunday). I’m surprised if anybody struggles with fundamentals when it’s coached and we’ve gone over it."

This may re-confirm many people's belief that Clifton is certainly slipping into the downside of his career. With Chad unable to perform, we can only hope that Barbre and Colledge can some how come in and pick up the slack if needed.

I don't think you'll see Chad on the bench anytime soon for performance, but the day is certainly getting closer.
