You have seen the Twitter badge, you read the updates, you wonder what the hell is Twitter? Well, hopefully this clears it up, and introduces you to some of the Packer faithful.

For those of you not familiar with Twitter, it is a complicated thing to explain. The best explanation I could find was at Tweeternet who summed it up as the following:

"Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that allows you answer the question, "What are you doing?" by sending short text messages 140 characters in length, called "tweets", to your friends, or "followers."

The short format of the tweet is a defining characteristic of the service, allowing informal collaboration and quick information sharing that provides relief from rising email and IM fatigue. Twittering is also a less gated method of communication: you can share information with people that you wouldn't normally exchange email or IM messages with, opening up your circle of contacts to an ever-growing community of like-minded people."

In a nutshell, it's a service that allows you to keep up with your "followers", who are other like minded people who are talking about the same things as you. It is also a very powerful way to get breaking news before anyone else does. Even the major news networks are turning to Twitter to gain an advantage.

For those of you already following, the rest of this post is for you. I can't express how much I appreciate each and every one of you. Reading what everybody has to say everyday is perhaps the most informative and often entertaining experience of my entire day.

I read almost every tweet that comes across the board. It is a daunting task to read thousands of messages each day, but rest assured, if you tweet often, I am listening.

What really sucks for me is that my Twitter badge is broken. Whenever I try to reply to someone, it leaves a HUGE blank space on my website. I have spent numerous hours trying to fix it and cannot find an answer. This being said, if I send you a direct message or don't reply this is the reason.

I am extremely upset about the whole thing, and feel that I am missing out on the most valuable part of Twitter: interaction with Packer nation. I still have a standing fifty-dollar bill to whoever can fix it. Wink.

We have been fairly successful using Twitter. I would like to think that people enjoy following our updates. According to Twittergrader we are in the top 3 percent of the one-million or so Twitter users nationwide.

Statistics aside, if it wasn't for the people on the other end it wouldn't be worth a darn anyway. Since I don't reply to many of you, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge as few of my favorites out there in Twitterland. A comprehensive list would take me all day, and I apologize in advance if I left anyone out. Feel free to leave me a comment and bash the heck out of me.

That being said, here is a much belated shout-out to several of you in Packer nation. I encourage anyone who joins the Twittersphere to follow these fellow Packer fans. They are my personal favorites.

@justfly Pretty sure this guy is a pilot. Is he Brett Favre's pilot? He could be. This cat is always up for talking Packers.

@Mr_Fastbucks He has been in the gameday lounge and I read everthing he puts out.

@Jerrod75 By far the most entertaining person I follow. He's a mellow fellow. Frickin' hilarious dude is what he is.

@theandyman Hardcore. Plus he comments on the blog which instantly moves you up the rankings. Heh.

@all_is_one84 Her last name is Jennings. That's a no brainer.

@ToniaMBartz She says she'd marry a guy who took her to Lambeau.

@mlewis106 Always has a Packer opinion.

@dexhandle One hell of a guy, makes movies and loves the Packers.

@rdavemacdonald Canadian Packer fan. I know Lounge regular Paul will be happy to hear that.

@DDaisy I even follow the moms. Mother, wife, and die-hard Packer fan. Her husband MAY work for the organization in some capacity.

@davfar Die-hard Packer fan. Thanks for the re-tweets.

@TIWWH I almost forgot Wayne. Our first ever podcast commentor. Sorry Wayne!

There are so many more people I would like to mention, and I hope I didn't royally piss anyone off for not doing so. Rest assured, I hear you everyday. When I find a way to fix my badge, I'll certainly holler back.
