49ers Agree to Terms With 6th Round TE Nate Byham

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with sixth-round tight end Nate Byham.

Wilson reports that Byham will receive a signing bonus of just over $106,000.

Byham (6-4, 268) was a three-year starter at the University of Pittsburgh, where he caught 47 passes for 602 yards with three touchdowns. Byham earned first-team All-Big East honors after his junior season.

Byham can likely earn a spot on the 49ers’ roster due to his blocking ability, but will need to show the ability to be a receiver, as well.

"I like to bloody noses," Byham said after he was drafted. "I don't shy away from contact. I go into the hole to hit somebody. I'm trying to inflict pain. I'm not just there to get in somebody's way."

Byham is the fourth of the 49ers' eight draft picks to sign or agree to terms on a contract.
