49ers Sign RB Deshawn Wynn Off Practice Squad

With running back Frank Gore out for the remainder of the season, the San Francisco 49ers will sign running back Deshawn Wynn off their practice squad.

David Canter, Wynn's agent, announced the move on Twitter.

Wynn was a seventh-round pick (228th overall) out of Florida by the Green Bay Packers in 2007. In 20 career games, Wynn has gained 332 yards on 64 carries with five touchdowns, and has added 14 receptions for 122 yards as a receiver out of the backfield. Wynn also two tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams.

Wynn spent four games this season with the New Orleans Saints before joining the 40ers' practice squad earlier this month.

Veteran Brian Westbrook, who racked up 136 yards on the ground in relief of Gore during last night's 27-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, is expected to share the rushing load with 2010 sixth-round pick Anthony Dixon.
