Another NFL Twitter Battle

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie made headlines after ripping the NFL and NFL Players Association leadership, who have not yet reached a new collective bargaining agreement.

"To me, you need to stop bitching about it," Cromartie said, "And if you wanna say you're gonna get into a room and meet and greet, and say you're gonna do what you need to do, then do it."

Several NFL players, most notably Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, disagreed with Cromartie, expressing confidence in their union leadership.

"Great leaders are servants first," Lewis told ESPN on Wednesdsay. "That is who our leaders are. Players are not going to turn on each other. We are blessed with what we have and it is on all of us to keep it fair. I'm resolved to do that."

"We know what is fair and the players are behind our leadership," said Dockett.

Upon hearing those remarks, Cromartie took to his Twitter account on Wednesday night:

"I don't give a who about Ray Lewis or @ddockett talking about what I said. There's 10's of thousand ppl who will lose jobs. They taking our healthcare away and for players that have surgery can't even get rehab once March 3rd gets here."

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck jumped into the fray, wondering aloud if Cromartie knew "what CBA stands for" before thinking better of it and deleting the missive.

Hasselbeck's tweet was out there, however, and ProFootballTalk.com posted an item on its appearance and prompt disappearance.

Cromartie has caught wind of Hasselbeck's tweet, and is now questioning Hasselbeck's manhood.

"@Hasselbeck hey Matt if u have something to then say it be a man about it. Don't erase it. I will smash ur face in."

Of course, people in San Diego (and New York) know that all Hasselbeck needs to do to keep Cromartie at bay is wear a Shonn Greene replica jersey.
