Asante Samuel, DeSean Jackson Absent From Eagles OTAs

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel and wide receiver DeSean Jackson are not present for the team's voluntary "Organized Team Activity" session today.

McLane adds that Samuel in not attending due to personal reasons, but the team offered no reason for Jackson's absence.

Coming off a Pro Bowl season, there has been a belief that Jackson would attempt to seek a long-term contract extension from the Eagles this off-season. While Jackson would like to increase his salary, he's recognized that he needs to be patient.

"I'm not here to make a big issue out of it or complain about it, because that's not what I do," Jackson told the Philadelphia Daily News last month. "I feel my relationship that I have with the team and the front office is a [good] one, and I'm patiently waiting."

Jackson is scheduled to earn $480,000 in base salary in 2010.
