While the world still waits for an agreement between the Cincinnati Bengals and Adam "Pacman" Jones, the Bengals have signed a veteran defensive back. Player agent Alvin Keels announced that his client, safety Gibril Wilson, had agreed to a one-year deal with the Bengals.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A 6-0, 207-pound safety from the University of Tennessee, Wilson began his NFL career with the New York Giants, who chose Wilson with a fifth-round pick (136th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft. Wilson started 51 games over his four seasons with the Giants, totaling 360 tackles, 6 quarterback sacks, 7 forced fumbles, and 11 interceptions in the Big Apple.

Wilson helped the Giants to a win in Super Bowl XLII.

After the Super Bowl win, Wilson signed a six-year, $39 million dollar contract, which included $16 million dollars in guarantees, with the Oakland Raiders in 2008. Wilson started 15 of 16 games that season, establishing a career-high with 129 tackles, but was released last off-season.

The Miami Dolphins signed Wilson to a 5-year, $27.5 million dollar contract that paid him $8 million dollars guaranteed in 2009. Wilson started 14 of 16 games for the Dolphins, totaling 93 tackles. Miami released Wilson in March.

Wilson worked out for the Bengals alongside Jones earlier this week.
