Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports the Cincinnati Bengals have signed undrafted Eastern Michigan cornerback Johnny Sears to an undisclosed contract.

Sears, a 6-0, 194-pound cornerback from Fresno, California, posted 37 tackles and 7 pass break-ups, while averaging 22.9 yards per kick return last season. Sears ran a pedestrian 4.62-second time in the 40-yard dash during his pro day on March 15, but demonstrated his athleticism by posting a 35.5" vertical leap and a 10'1" broad jump.

Sears began his college career at the University of Michigan, totaling 13 tackles and a 17.8-yard kick return average in 2006. Sears was kicked off the team by former Wolverines head coach Lloyd Carr in 2007.
