Bills RB Fred Jackson to Miss 4-to-6 Weeks
By admin
Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson will miss four-to-six weeks with a broken bone in his left hand, Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News reports.
The low-end of that recovery would place him back in time for the Bills' regular season-opener against the Miami Dolphins. Depending on the location of the bone, and how rapidly Jackson heals, he could conceivably wear a protective cast and not miss any regular season action.
Additionally, Bills back-up running back Marshawn Lynch will miss three-to-four weeks with a sprained ankle.
Jackson and Lynch's recovery timetables will result in more first-team reps for first-round running back C.J. Spiller, which may be the silver lining to what is otherwise grim injury news. Spiller was expected to have a large role in the Bills' offense as a rookie, but for the next three weeks, will be getting as the lead running back, with Chad Simpson and Joique Bell behind him on the depth chart.
