Brian St. Pierre to Start For Panthers

Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox has named Brian St. Pierre the starting quarterback for this Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, Darin Gantt of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Panthers rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen (concussion) missed Wednesday's practice, and with Matt Moore on injured reserve, the only other option for Fox was 2010 sixth-round pick Tony Pike.

The Panthers signed St. Pierre to the practice squad last week, and added him to the 53-man roster on Tuesday.

A 30-year old former fifth-round pick (163rd overall) out of Boston College by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2003, St. Pierre has completed 2-of-5 passes for 12 yards with a touchdown and an interception in two appearances in his seven-year career.
