Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Sean Jones beat out Sabby Piscitelli in their competition for the starting strong safety position, and according to Charlie Campbell of PewterReport.com, Piscitelli isn't taking the demotion well.

"I don't think it was ever a competition," said Piscitelli. "That's my opinion. I don't think it was a competition that's all I'm going to say on that."

A second-round pick out of Oregon State by the Buccaneers in 2007, Piscitelli started 15 of 16 games last season, totaling 80 tackles and a pair of interceptions. Tampa Bay finished as the NFL's 32nd-ranked run defense, and even though Jones was chosen to start, head coach Raheem Morris intends to use both players and Tanard Jackson as part of a three-safety rotation.

Morris also had pointed words for Piscitelli when asked for his reaction to the fourth-year safety's comments.

"I don’t have to, and that’s unfortunate for him. That’s probably why he didn’t get it," Morris said. "Generally you go out there and do your very best. That’s the thing to do, so that’s Sabby’s problem...

"No there is no such thing as an unhappy player," Morris added. "The only the person that’s going to be unhappy here is me. His job is to make us happy. He’s got to do his job. That’s the nature of the beast. That’s how the NFL works."
