The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that second-round defensive tackle Brian Price has signed a four-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 6-1, 303-pound Price started 30 of his 35 games at UCLA, totaling 97 tackles, including 44.5 for a loss and 12.5 quarterback sacks. Price twice earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors, and was a third-team All-American after his junior season.

Price has a low center gravity and the strength (34 reps on bench press) to take on double teams. Price also possesses the explosiveness to split double-teams, as evidenced by his tackles for a loss production in college.

Because UCLA operates on the "quarters" system, Price missed much of the Buccaneers' OTAs and mini-camps. Still, Price is expected to start next to first-round pick Gerald McCoy this season, and is a major cog in the Buccaneers' plan to rebuild a run defense that ranked 32nd in the National Football League last season.
