Buccaneers Sign 4th Round WR Mike Williams

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed fourth-round wide receiver Mike Williams to a four-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

An exceptionally-talented receiver, the 6-2, 212-pound Williams caught 133 passes for 2,044 (15.4 avg) and 20 touchdowns in just 29 games at Syracuse, but off-field issues hurt his draft stock, and the Buccaneers were able to take him with the 101st overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Williams was caught cheating on an exam and ruled academically ineligible for the 2008 season. Reinstated for the 2009 season, Williams quit the Orange after just seven games.

Along with 2010 second-round pick Arrelious Benn, Williams has the talent, and opportunity, to start immediately for the Buccaneers.
