Chargers WR Malcolm Floyd Will Report to OTAs

San Diego Chargers restricted free agent wide receiver Malcolm Floyd will report to the team's "Organized Team Activity" session this week, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
"I don't think there was anything more to gain by sitting out," Floyd said.
"I'm excited (to) take reps with Philip (Rivers)," Floyd said. "I've been really stressing on that."
An undrafted free agent out of the University of Wyoming, the 6-5, 225-pound Floyd has caught 97 passes for 1,597 yards and 9 touchdowns in 51 games over the six seasons. Floyd set career-highs with 45 receptions for 776 yards in 2009.
With four accrued seasons, Floyd's "First- and Third-Round" restricted free agent tender, which Acee reports could be signed today, carries a $3.168 million dollar base salary.
The Chargers are at the 80-man off-season roster limit, and would need to release a player to accommodate Floyd signing his tender.
Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson, offensive tackle Marcus McNeil, and linebacker Shawne Merriman are the club's remaining unsigned restricted free agents.
