Chiefs Name Bill Muir Offensive Coordinator

The Kansas City Chiefs will name Bill Muir their next offensive coordinator, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

Todd Haley's coaching staff has had this vacancy since Charlie Weis left the team to take the same position at the University of Florida after the team's loss to the Baltimore Ravens in mid-January.

Muir has coached the Chiefs offensive line the last two seasons, and brings over 30 years of NFL coaching experience to the position.

Prior to joining the Chiefs, Muir was the offensive coordinator/offensive line coach on Jon Gruden's coaching staff with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2002-08.

Muir has also coached offensive lines with the New York Jets (1995-2001), Philadelphia Eagles (1992-94), Indianapolis Colts (1991), Detroit Lions (1985-88), and New England Patriots (1982-84).

Muir also spent two seasons (1989-90) as the Colts' defensive coordinator, and spent several seasons in the Buccaneers' personnel department.
