Chiefs Release Pair of Players

The Kansas City Chiefs announced the release of first-year wide receiver Chandler Williams and undrafted rookie tight end T.C. Drake.

Williams joined the Chiefs late last season, spending the final three weeks of the regular season on their practice squad after being waived by the Atlanta Falcons after catching one pass for 5 yards and averaging 21.4 yards on 9 kick returns, and 6.3 yards on 3 punt returns during the pre-season.

A seventh-round pick (233rd overall) out of Florida International by the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, Williams spent his entire rookie season on the Miami Dolphins' practice squad, and half of the '08 season on the Falcons' practice squad.

Drake (6-5, 244) caught 20 passes for 281 yards and a touchdown in a 49-game career at the University of Kentucky.
