Chiefs Sign WR Kevin Curtis

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they have signed veteran wide receiver Kevin Curtis.

Defensive back Donald Washington has been placed on injured reserve.

Curtis, 32, has caught 253 passes for 3,297 yards and 20 touchdowns during an 81-game career with the St. Louis Rams (2003-06), Philadelphia Eagles (2007-09), and two games with the Miami Dolphins last month.

The Dolphins waived Curtis on December 28.

A former third-round pick out of Utah State, Curtis was limited to just 12 games between the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In September, Curtis underwent surgery to remove a cancerous testicle.

Washington missed the last month of the regular season with an ankle injury.

The Chiefs also filled their open slot on the practice squad with rookie tight end Cody Slate.
