With second-year linebacker Stephen Hodge opening training camp on the PUP list, the Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran linebacker Jay Moore, reports Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

A 2007 fourth-round pick out of Nebraska by the San Francisco 49ers, Moore released earlier this month by the Tennessee Titans after spending most of 2009 on the St. Louis Rams' practice squad. In three pre-seasons with the 49ers, has been credited with 11 tackles, including 1 quarterback sack.

Moore missed his first two NFL seasons with injuries (ankle, biceps), and has yet to appear in a regular season game.

To fit Moore on the 80-man training camp roster, undrafted rookie wide receiver Verran Tucker (Cal) was released.
