Dolphins Sign FB Deon Anderson

The Miami Dolphins have signed former Dallas Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson, Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post reports.

Anderson takes the roster spot vacated by the release of linebacker Bobby Carpenter, another former Cowboys player that Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland, a former Cowboys personnel executive, signed in September.

The 5-10, 240-pound Anderson has three rushing yards, 9 receptions for 67 yards, and 21 special teams tackles in 39 games over the last three seasons, all with the Cowboys, who chose him in the sixth-round (195th overall) out of Connecticut in 2007.

Anderson injured his knee during the 2010 regular season-opener against the Washington Redskins, and was released with an injury settlement on September 24.
