Dolphins Waive Three

The Miami Dolphins trimmed their roster, Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports.

Waived on Monday were running back Tristan Davis, nose tackle Travis Ivey, and tight end Kory Sperry.

Davis, a first-year player from Auburn who spent part of 2009 with the Detroit Lions, had been hoping to catch on with the Dolphins as a kick returner. Davis returned one kick for 15 yards in pre-season opener.

An undrafted rookie from Maryland, Ivey (6-4, 325) was buried behind Randy Starks and Paul Soliai at nose tackle.

Sperry entered the NFL with the San Diego Charers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State. Signed to the Dolphins practice squad to start the season, Sperry was activated midway through his rookie campaign, starting one game and totaling three receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.
