Eagles, Cardinals Swap Sixth-Round Picks

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have traded rookie fullback Charles Scott to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for rookie cornerback Jorrick Calvin.

Scott and Calvin were chosen with back-to-back picks in the sixth-round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Scott (5-11, 239) had one carry for two yards, and caught one pass during the pre-season. The Cardinals lost fullback Nehemiah Broughton to what's believed to be a torn ACL on Saturday.

Scott started 22 straight games for LSU before breaking his college career ended with a broken collarbone against the University of Alabama. Scott ranks seventh on the Tigers' all-time rushing yardage list (2,317) and is fourth all-time in rushing touchdowns with 32. Scott also caught 31 passes for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns during his career.

Calvin started 12 of 13 games at cornerback for Troy University in 2008, totaling 76 tackles and a pair of interceptions, with nine pass break-ups, a forced fumble, and a pair of fumble recoveries. Calvin also handled the return duties, averaging 25.7 yards on 27 kick returns, returning one kick 95 yards for a touchdown. Calvin also averaged 9.9 yards on 15 punt returns, and returned a blocked field goal 65 yards for a touchdown.

Calvin was ruled academically ineligible for the 2009 season, and has had five total tackles for the Cardinals this pre-season. Calvin was not expected to make the Cardinals' 53-man roster, and was likely ticketed for the practice squad.
