Eagles Request Permission to Interview Dean Pees

The Philadelphia Eagles have requested permission to interview Baltimore Ravens linebackers coach Dean Pees for their defensive coordinator vacancy, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Pees joined the Ravens last January after spending six seasons with the New England Patriots. Pees spent two seasons as New England's linebackers coach before becoming the defensive coordinator from 2006-09.

Prior to his New England stint, Pees was the head coach at Kent State from 1998-2003 and was Nick Saban's defensive coordinator at Michigan State from 1995-97.

No word on whether that permission has been granted, but considering that Ravens head coach John Harbaugh came from the Eagles, it's hard to imagine that Baltimore would decline Pees this opportunity for advancement.
