The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have signed undrafted free agent linebacker Simoni Lawrence.

Lawrence, a native of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, worked out for the Eagles last week after he was released by the St. Louis Rams.

The 6-0, 232-pound Lawrence, who joined the  University of Minnesota in 2008 as a JUCO transfer, totaled 141 tackles, including 18.5 behind the line of scrimmage and 6 quarterback sacks, during his two season with the Gophers. Lawrence, who played safety at Valley Forge Military Academy, also broke up 7 passes and snared a pair of interceptions.

Lawrence's signing brings the Eagles to the 80-man off-season roster limit.
