The New York Giants have signed veteran free agent wide receiver Adam Jennings, Mike Garafolo of The Star-Ledger reports.
Wide receiver Domenik Hixon, who suffered a torn ACL last month, has been "Waived/Injured". He will likely clear waivers and be placed on the Giants' injured reserve list.
Jennings (5-9, 176) was a 2006 sixth-round pick (184th overall) out of Fresno State by the Atlanta Falcons. In 46 career games with the Falcons (2006-08) and Detroit Lions (2008-09), Jennings has six receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, all coming during the 2007 season.
Jennings has a 22.4-yard per kick return average during his career, with a long of 61 yards, and a 6.2-yard punt return average. Jennings also has 16 tackles and two fumble recoveries on special teams.
