Jimmy Clausen to Start for Panthers in Week 3

Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox has named second-round quarterback Jimmy Clausen the starter for the team's Week 3 home game against the Cincinnati Bengals, reports Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer.

Clausen replaced embattled starter Matt Moore on Sunday, and completed 7-of-13 passes for 59 yards with an interception in the Panthers' 20-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In two starts, Moore has completed 40.8% of his 49 pass attempts for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Moore has also been intercepted four times for a passer rating of 41.8. Moore has been sacked eight times, and has lost a pair of fumbles, contributing to the team's 0-2 start to the 2010 season.
