NFL Warns Players of Trash Talk

The NFL has warned the players on the eight remaining playoff teams about trash talk, Newsday's Bob Glauber and Sports Illustrated's Peter King report.

According to Glauber, players have been warned to keep trash talk "outside the white lines". (Link in Glauber tweet leads to an article behind a pay wall)

King adds that NFL Vice-President of Football Operations Ray Anderson told the players that they're on notice, and that over-the-top trash talk could draw fines and penalties.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed the reports on Twitter:

"Ray Anderson contacted multiple clubs this week so they could remind players (that) comments of a physically threatening nature are always taken into account in evaluating discipline for illegal physical contact on field," Aiello wrote.
