Packers CB Brandon Underwood at Center of Investigation

Cornerback Brandon Underwood has been identified as the Green Bay Packers player at the center of a sexual assault investigation in Lake Delton, Wisconsin, Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

"(The) seventh did have contact with the two females," Sgt. Gerald Grimsled said. "We were pretty sure of that. Everybody was cooperative.

"It comes down to 'was it consensual sex?' One side says yes, the other says no."

Early next week, the case will be brought to the district attorney, who will consider filing charges.

Bedard adds that according to several anonymous members of the Packers, Underwood had been a problem on the team since he was chosen in the sixth round (187th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of the University of Cincinnati.

Underwood, 23, appeared in 11 games during his rookie season, posted 11 tackles, including two for a loss and six on special teams. Underwood added a pair of tackles and recovered an onside kick during the Packers' 51-45 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the wild card round of the 2009 NFL Playoffs.
