Green Bay Packers restricted free agent safety Atari Bigby has signed his one-year tender, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

An undrafted free agent out of Central Florida, the 5-11, 211-pound Bigby had stints with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets before he was signed to the Packers' practice squad midway through the 2005 season.

Bibgy had a breakout season in 2007, starting all 16 games and establishing career-bests with 86 tackles, 5 interceptions, 9 passes defensed, and three forced fumbles. Bigby added 16 tackles and a forced fumble the 2007 Playoffs, as well.

A shoulder injury limited Bigby to just seven games in 2008. Bigby appeared in 13 games, starting 11, in 2009, totaling 49 tackles and four interceptions.

Due to the rules regarding the uncapped year, Bigby was not eligible for unrestricted free agency. For the second consecutive off-season, Bigby was tendered at the "Second Round" level, which was to pay him a $1.759 million dollar base salary.

By not signing the tender by June 15, the Packers had the option to reduce the tender to $1.6995 million dollars, a $59,500 difference.

Bigby is expected to face a challenge from third-round safety Morgan Burnett for the starting strong safety job this summer.
