Panthers CB Richard Marshall Signs Injury Protection Waiver

Carolina Panthers restricted free agent cornerback Richard Marshall was reportedly on the field during the team's "Organized Team Activity" session on Monday, which was closed to the media.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com and ESPN's Adam Schefter report this morning that Marshall has not signed his one-year tender, but has signed an injury protection waiver that allows him to participate in the on-field practice sessions.

Marshall, a second-round pick (58th overall) out of Fresno State by the Panthers in 2006, was tendered at the "Second Round" level this off-season, and will earn a $1.759 million dollar base salary.

Marshall has started 30 of his 64 career games, becoming a full-time starter in 2009. Marshall has 334 tackles, 4 quarterback sacks, and 11 interceptions, including a career-high 4 in 2009, during his career.
