Panthers Claim G Andrew Crummey Off Waivers

The Carolina Panthers have claimed guard Andrew Crummey off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars, Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Undrafted rookie guard Noah Franklin has been waived.

Crummey entered the NFL with the Washington Redskins, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Maryland in 2008. Waived at the end of that year's training camp, Crummey was on the Redskins' practice squad until the Cincinnati Bengals added him to their active roster. Crummey appeared in six games for the Bengals, who waived him at the end of last year's training camp.

Crummey spent most of 2009 on the Houston Texans' practice squad, and was signed to a "Reserve/Futures" contract by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who waived him on Sunday.
