The Carolina Panthers opened their "Organized Team Activity" sessions this week, and to improve a passing offense that ranked 27th in the National Football League last season, Panthers head coach John Fox is focusing the first three sessions on the passing game, Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald reports.

A quick glance of the Panthers' depth chart notes the departures this off-season of quarterback Jake Delhomme and wide receiver Muhsin Muhammed, the franchise leaders in passing attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards, and co-leader in receiving touchdowns. Taking their place are second-round quarterback Jimmy Clausen, sixth-round quarterback Tony Pike, third-round wide receivers Brandon LaFell and Armanti Edwards, as well as sixth-round receiver David Gettis.

Due to NFL rules, Pike is unable to attend the OTA sessions until the University of Cincinnati holds its graduation ceremony.
