Panthers LB Thomas Davis, CB Richard Marshall Sign RFA Tenders

Carolina Panthers restricted free agents Thomas Davis and Richard Marshall have signed their one-year tenders, Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Davis was tendered at the "First- and Third-Round" level, and will earn $3.268 million dollars this season, while Marshall was tendered at the "Second Round" level, which carries a $1.759 million dollar base salary.

Davis and Marshall are the last of the Panthers' eight restricted free agents to sign their one-year tenders, though both had signed injury-protection waivers and were actively participating in the team's "Organized Team Activity" sessions.

Marshall, a second-round pick (58th overall) out of Fresno State by the Panthers in 2006, has started 30 of his 64 career games. Though he only become a full-time starter in 2009, Marshall has 334 tackles, 4 quarterback sacks, and 11 interceptions, including a career-high 4 in 2009, during his career.

A 2005 first-round pick (14th overall) out of the University of Georgia, Davis has 388 tackles, 11 quarterback sacks, and 3 interceptions over the last five seasons. A torn ACL in his right knee limited Davis to just 7 games in 2009, and Gantt adds that Davis tweaked that knee during today's OTA session.

More tests are pending, which isn't a good sign.
