Panthers Sign C/G Chris Morris

The 53rd spot on the Carolina Panthers' roster has been filled, as Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports the team has signed veteran free agent center/guard Chris Morris.

A seventh-round pick (214th overall) out of Michigan State by the Oakland Raiders in 2006, Morris (6-4, 305) started 11 of 47 games over the last four seasons, including a career-high 10 games in 2009.

Tendered at the "Original Round" level as a restricted free agent in the off-season, the Raiders released Morris as part of their final roster cuts on September 4.
