Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that after trading Randy Moss, the always active New England Patriots are looking for receiver help.

Though Rapaport stresses that talks are "extremely preliminary", one team the Patriots are talking to are the Seattle Seahawks.

Of course, the subject of any talks between the Patriots and Seahawks involving a wide receiver would center around Deion Branch, who spent the five years of his career in New England, earning MVP honors following Super Bowl XXXIX.

Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports that such a trade is a possibility, though nothing appears imminent.

Branch, 31, caught 213 passes for 2,744 yards and 14 touchdowns before he was traded to the Seahawks on September 11, 2006 for a first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft (Brandon Meriweather).

Branch has struggled in Seattle, with knee, ankle, heel, and calf injuries limiting him to 51 games over the last 4+ seasons. Branch has 13 receptions for 112 yards and 1 touchdown this season, where he's earning a $5.47 million base salary. Branch's contract includes a $5.95 million base salary in 2011.

New England selected Branch in the second-round of the 2002 NFL Draft, and the former Louisville standout didn't hide his admiration for Bill Belichick when talk of him possibly returning to the Patriots surfaced during the off-season.
