The New England Patriots traded wide receiver Randy Moss, in part, because Moss was quite vocal about his contract situation. Deion Branch, acquired to help fill part of the void the Moss trade, restructured the final year of deal on Thursday.

Wes Welker's current five-year, $18.1 million deal is up after 2011, but the two-time Pro Bowler isn't thinking focused on the business side of the game.

"Not really at all," Welker said on Friday. "All I know is that I'm under contract and just happy to be here and happy to be a Patriot and just look forward to winning some ball games."

Welker's contract, which he signed while a restricted free agent of the Miami Dolphins, will pay him a $2.15 million base salary and an additional $350,000 in roster and workout bonuses.

As of right now, 31 wide receivers are scheduled to receive higher base salaries in 2011 than Welker, including Branch ($2.2M) and former Patriots wide receiver Jabar Gaffney ($2.4M).
