The Oakland Raiders announced the signing of fourth-round wide receiver Jacoby Ford.

The Oakland Raiders announced the signing of fourth-round wide receiver Jacoby Ford.

Financial terms of the four-year deal were not disclosed.

Ford started 27 of his 48 games at Clemson University, and is one of the most productive multi-purpose weapons in that program’s history. Ford caught 143 passes for 1,986 yards and 14 touchdowns, rushed for 494 yards (8.5 average) and a pair of touchdowns, averaged 23.9 yards on 47 kick returns with one touchdown, and 8.4 yards on 57 punt returns, bringing two back for scores during his career.

Seven of Ford’s 19 career touchdowns were of 50+ yards, and Ford earned second-team All-ACC honors after leading the Tigers with 56 catches for 779 yards in 2009.

A track star as well, the 5-9, 186-pound Ford ran a blistering 4.22-second time in the 40-yard dash at the 2010 Scouting Combine, no doubt endearing himself to the speed-obsessed Al Davis. Ford will compete for a backup receiving role, and has an excellent opportunity to earn playing time as a return specialist.

Ford is the sixth of the team's nine picks to sign a contract. Still unsigned are first-round linebacker Rolando McClain, second-round defensive tackle LaMarr Houston, and seventh-round safety Stevie Brown.
