The St. Louis Rams announced that second-year offensive tackle Jason Smith has a stress fracture in one his toes.
While surgery is not required, Smith will be sidelined until training camp.
Smith limped off the Rams' practice field on Tuesday, but the injury was not believed to be serious. The second overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft aggravated the injury on Thursday morning, and underwent an MRI in the afternoon.
Smith missed the final six games of his rookie season with a concussion, and is slated to start at left tackle for the Rams this season.
The Rams added that guard Mark Setterstrom suffered an elbow injury during today's practice.
