Ravens Agree to Terms With 5th Round DL Arthur Jones

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they have agreed to terms with fifth-round defensive lineman Arthur Jones, Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Terms were not disclosed, but the Ravens are one of the few NFL teams who sign their mid-to-late round draft choices to three-year contracts.

A three-year starter at Syracuse, the 6-3, 301-pound Jones totaled 145 tackles, including 38.5 for a loss and 6.5 quarterback sacks.

A second-team All-Big East selection as a sophomore, and first-team All-Big East selection as a junior, Jones opted to stay in school for his senior season. Jones tore a pectoral muscle lifting weights, which limited his availability and production during his senior season.

Before of his injuries, Jones slipped to the fifth-round, where the Ravens feel they may have gotten a potential steal. Jones is not expected to start, or play much of a role, as a rookie, but has starting potential at the "5" technique position.

Jones is the first of the Ravens' seven picks in the 2010 NFL Draft to agree to terms.
