Ravens LB Terrell Suggs Fined $15,000

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was fined $15,000 for punching an opponent, Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports.

Suggs punched Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson during Sunday's regular season finale. Simpson was handing Suggs his helmet back after it had been knocked off by Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth.

Suggs was not penalized for the incident, which was captured by CBS cameras.

"I was getting into it with him all day, exchanging words," Suggs said of his battle with Whitworth, according to Wilson. "I could have cost my team. I've got to be better in that area. Luckily, I got away with one. Usually, I don't get away with anything. They were too busy looking for the spot off the ball.

"He kept saying Tom Brady was his favorite quarterback," Suggs said laughingly when asked what was said that angered him.
