Ravens S Ed Reed Underwent Hip Surgery

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post is reporting that Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed underwent hip surgery this off-season.

According to Wilson, Reed, who has contemplated retirement in recent off-seasons, will miss the team's mini-camp, which begins on Friday, but is expected to be ready for training camp.

Reed, 31, is a six-time Pro Bowl selection, including after each of the last four seasons. Reed was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2004, and is a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s.

In 118 career games, Reed has totaled 458 tackles, 5 quarterback sacks, and 46 interceptions, off which he's amassed 1,255 return yards (27.2 avg) and six touchdowns. Reed has scored 12 touchdowns during his career.
