Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome announced that the Ravens have terminated the contract of veteran cornerback Samari Rolle, Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports.

A second-round pick (46th overall) out of Florida State by the Tennessee Titans in 1998, Rolle (6-0, 175) spent the first seven years of his NFL career with the Titans, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors after the 2000 season. Rolle signed with the Ravens as a free agent in 2005, totaling 92 tackles, 1 quarterback sack, and 4 interceptions his first two season with the Ravens before missing a handful of games with an illness later revealed to be epilepsy. Rolle returned in 2008, but was slowed by neck, shoulder, and groin injuries, starting 10 games.

The Ravens released Rolle for salary cap purposes last March, but re-signed him to a more manageable four-year contract last April. Rolle spent the entire 2009 season on the team's physically-unable-to-perform list.

Rolle, who turns 34 in August, has 31 interceptions and 69 passes defensed during his career.
