Redskins DL Albert Haynesworth Fined $7,500

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been fined $7,500 by the National Football League, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

Haynesworth's fine stems from a blind-side block of Chicago Bears rookie right tackle J'Marcus Webb during DeAngelo Hall's 92-yard interception return for a touchdown on Sunday.

Webb was flagged for a personal foul after the play.

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan is prepared to defend Haynesworth's block to the league, provided he sees it first.

"A lot of times, I've gone to bat for players in those situations and determine what's in the best interests, if you've got a chance to win it or if you don't," Shanahan said via Jason Reid of the Washington Post. "I've got to look at it first. And if it is, we'll determine it. I've done that before. I've won. I've lost. So you never know."
