Redskins Still Trying to Acquire First Overall Pick

Dan Graziano of AOL's FanHouse reports the Washington Redskins are still interested in trading up with the St. Louis Rams in order to draft Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford.

"Sources told FanHouse on Wednesday night that the Washington Redskins are still in discussions with the Rams and trying to make a deal for Bradford, who would then sit for a year in Washington behind Donovan McNabb and develop under new Redskins coach Mike Shanahan."

Graziano adds that the Redskins are the only team that is still talking to the Rams about acquiring the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Anything's possible with Daniel Snyder, but I would think that if the Redskins and Rams were trying to make a deal involving the number one pick, and first-round/free agent mistakes of previous regimes on both rosters, this would have happened before the Rams shipped Adam Carriker to the Redskins for a swap of fifth- and seventh-round picks on Tuesday.
