Redskins to Sign LS James Dearth

Free agent long-snapper James Dearth is expected to sign with the Washington Redskins, reports Jenny Vrentas of The Star-Ledger.
Dearth handled the snapping duties for the New York Jets from 2001-09, but opted not to re-sign him, going "younger and cheaper" with Tanner Purdum this season.
Nick Sundberg, a first-year player out of Cal, is the current Redskins snapper. Sundberg has struggled during training camp, prompting the Redskins to bring in a veteran like Dearth.
Sundberg went to training camp with the Carolina Panthers in 2009.
