Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C. reports the Washington Redskins have traded sixth-round tight end/fullback Dennis Morris to the St. Louis Rams.
The Redskins received 2010 fifth-round defensive end Hall Davis from the Rams, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports.
Morris (6-1, 253) played tight end and fullback during his career at Louisiana Tech, catching 70 passes for 1,144 yards and 16 touchdowns. Morris earned first-team All-WAC honors after catching 38 passes for 623 yards and 12 touchdowns.
A two-year starter at Louisiana-Lafayette, the 6-4, 271-pound Davis didn't produce eye-popping statistics for the Ragin' Cajuns (61 tackles, 8.5 for a loss, 6.5 sacks), but demonstrated his strength (28 reps on the bench press) and athleticism during pre-draft workouts.
