Rick Maese of the Washington Post reports the Washington Redskins are unlikely to submit a bid in the 2010 NFL Supplemental Draft.
Last summer, the Redskins spent a 2010 third-round pick on defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, a 6-3, 277-pounder from the University of Kentucky who appeared in 11 games as a rookie, totaling 8 tackles with a pass defensed and a forced fumble.
Jarmon is expected to back-up Phillip Daniels and Albert Haynesworth at the end position this season.
Maese notes that the Redskins were not believed to be one of the 20 teams that attended the pro day workout of BYU running back Harvey Unga, and that considering their lack of picks in the 2011 draft, they are unlikely to part with a mid-to-late round pick on the 6-1, 244-pound running back.
University of Illinois defensive lineman Joshua Price-Bent is the other notable prospect. At 6-2 and 318 pounds, he could be viewed as a potential "5" technique end in the Redskins' 3-4 defense. There are off-field issues with Price-Bent that will likely scare teams away, and there are questions about his strength and fit in a 3-4 scheme.
