Report: Ravens CB Domonique Foxworth Tears ACL

Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports that Baltimore Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth will miss the 2010 season after suffering a torn ACL during a closed practice session on Thursday.

Losing Foxworth is a major blow to the Ravens' secondary, which has fellow projected starter Fabian Washington and key back-up Lardarius Webb recovering from knee surgeries. Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed may miss a significant portion of the regular season, as well.

Signed to a four-year, $27.2 million dollar contract as a free agent last off-season, Foxworth posted 53 tackles and 4 interceptions in 2009, as well as a team-high 16 passes defensed during his first season with his hometown town.

The former University of Maryland star was drafted in the third-round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, who traded him to the Atlanta Falcons in 2008.

In 76 career games in the NFL, Foxworth has 264 tackles and 8 interceptions.
