Roethlisberger to Seek 3-Game Reduction in Suspension

During his meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Friday, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's representatives will seek a three-game reduction in Roethlisberger's six-game suspension, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports.

Paolantonio adds that Steelers president Art Rooney II will accompany Roethlisberger to the meeting in New York.

"Ben Roethlisberger is scheduled to meet with Commissioner Goodell on Friday to discuss Ben's upcoming suspension. We are looking forward to hearing from the Commissioner, but we will not have any further information or comment until after they speak," Rooney said in a statement released by the Steelers on Tuesday.

When Goodell issued the six-game suspension, he agreed to consider a reduction if Roethlisberger complied with a number of league-imposed stipulations. By all accounts, Roethlisberger has been a model citizen since April, easily meeting of the conditions set forth by the league.

As such, Roethlisberger's suspension is expected to be reduced to four games, the lowest the NFL has said Roethlisberger's suspension will be reduced to.
