Ruston Webster Leaves Seahawks for Titans

Seattle Seahawks Vice President of Player Personnel Ruston Webster has left the franchise to accept a position in the Tennessee Titans front office, the Seahawks announced on Friday.

Webster joined the Seahawks in 2006 after spending 18 years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rising from southeast area scout to Director of Player Personnel. Webster will assume the same title and duties with the Titans.

"When I joined the Titans organization, we were able to fill a number of roles in the pro and college departments, but we didn’t fill the Player Personnel spot at the time," Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt said on Friday. "I wanted the right person to fill that role and wanted to see how the organization would function in the various departments before making this hire. I have a great deal of respect for Ruston as a football guy and as a person. He will focus on the college draft, but will assist in the other areas of the personnel department as well."

The Seahawks also announced that scout Scott Fitterer has been promoted to Director of College Scouting, and scout Eric Stokes has been named Assistant Director of College Scouting.

"We are very excited to expand the roles and responsibilities of both Scott and Eric," Seahawks general manager John Schneider said in a statement. "Both men place great importance on the value of hard work and share a strong passion for the game and the Seahawks. They are highly qualified and these are well-deserved promotions."

Fitterer has been with the organization since 2001, and has been the club's western region scouting director for the past five seasons. Stokes began his tenure with the Seahawks as a fifth-round draft choice in 1997, and after a two-year playing career, joined the team's personnel department.
